The Living Green Task Force Hosts Guest Speaker, Joe Flarida, of Power A Clean Future Ohio, March 17

Greencity

City of Green recently issued the following announcement.

The City of Green’s Living Green Task Force will host Joe Flarida, executive director of Power A Clean Future Ohio (PCFO), on March 17 at 6pm at Central Park Community Hall for a program to encourage best practices in energy solutions. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Flarida will share PCFO’s story and what they are doing to engage with local communities across the state of Ohio to create carbon reduction plans and provide clean energy solutions for transportation, energy, waste reduction and land use.  Believing that the biggest opportunity to affect large-scale change happens at the local level, Power A Clean Future Ohio has created a toolkit to support the efforts of local leaders as they develop community-oriented clean energy solutions.

“We are looking forward to this presentation and a better understanding of policy and initiatives that have seen success across Ohio,” said Mayor Gerard Neugebauer. “The task force prioritizes seeking out and evaluating best practices and resources that aligns with our goal to be a healthy and resilient community.”

The City’s Living Green Task Force, created in 2012, shares PCFO’s vision and believes this bottom-up approach will generate practical clean energy solutions. Leading by example, the Living Green Task Force adds this green initiative among others which it has championed over the last decade that include the implementation of green infrastructure, local food, clean energy, air quality and the installation of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.

PCFO’s executive director Joe Flarida states, “PCFO looks forward to the opportunity to work with Green and engage with the Living Green Task Force to turn this vision of a sustainable, clean energy future into a reality.”
